How Do We Repair the ‘American Brand’ Post-Biden?

Have you noticed the damage done to this country under Joe Biden? I'm not even talking about the economy—which is no doubt hurting us. I'm talking about the damage done to our country's reputation.

Joe Biden was pitched as the guy who would bring back civility—a man who would bring both sides together to compromise on behalf of everyone. I never believed it, and I don't believe most ever really did. Biden not only restored Barack Obama's hyper-partisan governing style but also his incompetence on the world stage.

It's actually quite funny if you think about it. Joe Biden was picked as Obama's running mate to balance Obama's inexperience. But what exactly did Joe Biden bring to the table? As former Defense Secretary Robert Gates wrote in his 2014 memoir, Joe Biden has "been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades."

The statement continues to ring true today. Joe Biden's presidency has been rife with foreign policy failures, from his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan to the ongoing conflict between Israel, Hamas, and Iran. Joe Biden specifically warned Iran not to attack Israel, and yet they did. Biden then warned Israel not to retaliate, and they ignored him, too.

Our enemies don't fear us, and our allies don't respect us.

Meanwhile, the lawfare being waged against Donald Trump is damaging our reputation abroad. Famed entrepreneur Kevin O'Leary blasted the current trial over Trump's non-disclosure agreement with Stormy Daniels, saying the charade damages the "American brand."

"Forget about Trump, okay? We don't do this in America, but we don't go after the office of the president with porn star cases," O'Leary told Fox News on Thursday. "We give a broad swath of latitude. If you're an ex-president and you murdered somebody, I get it, or been accused of murder... But what is this? This hurts the American brand. I keep saying that."

O'Leary continued, "I was in Geneva last week—150 countries represented there. Everybody is talking about this, saying, 'What is this porn star thing?' This is an American president. This is the office of the United States of America's highest office, and we're doing this? This is sheer stupidity."

He added that the trial should be "pushed until after he wins or doesn't win," because it "should not be part of this election cycle at all."

"And this is not a Trump-loving comment. This is about the American brand, where I bring capital from all around the world to invest here. We look like clowns. I hate this."

O'Leary similarly criticized the civil fraud case against Trump for a victimless non-crime.

“That fact that he was found guilty, you might as well find guilty every real estate developer on Earth,” O’Leary explained in February. “I don’t understand where someone got hurt... What developer doesn’t ask for the highest price valued for any building they built?”

He added, “If this judgment sticks. Every developer must be jailed. They must be found guilty. They must be put out of business. You can’t do this to one another. It’s not about Trump.”

Sadly, this kind of lawfare has become the norm under Joe Biden. We've seen unprecedented abuse of the legal system, and I can't help but wonder if it's possible to recover from this. It's easy to say that putting a strong leader back in the Oval Office— one who can keep our enemies in line and not betray our allies—would solve everything, but the next Democrat president will inevitably do the same thing. Trump may win in November and clean up Biden's messes, but just as Joe Biden has restored the Obama-era status quo, the next Democrat president will restore the Biden status quo. America will constantly be pushed back and forth between sanity and insanity, strength and weakness, good and evil.

Is there anything that can be done to fix America permanently?
